In the opening stretch of Rambo V: Last Blood, Sylvester Stallone’s title character will be living a quiet life on an Arizona ranch, and in a new batch of photos posted to the actor’s Instagram, we see the action star looking pretty content in this rural setting alongside a couple of series newcomers.

In Stallone’s own words, the pics show John Rambo opposite his “adopted” family, consisting of Adriana Barraza as Maria and Yvette Monreal as Gabrielle. Stallone also describes the pair as “The people [Rambo] loves and lives to protect,” which sounds pretty ominous when you consider which series we’re talking about here.

Sure enough, a report from a couple of months ago alleged that Gabrielle – who’s apparently the daughter of Maria – is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel for their sex trafficking ring. From here, Rambo is said to team up with Gabrielle’s sister Carmen Delgado, played by Paz Vega, to track down Maria, while presumably leaving a few bodies in their wake.

Meanwhile, on the villain end of the cast list is Sergio Peris-Mencheta, who plays the violent cartel leader Hugo Martinez. So far, we’ve yet to see any images of Peris-Mencheta in action, but going by another of Stallone’s Instagram posts from a few weeks ago, his various set pics are being uploaded in an order that reflects the story of the film. It therefore only figures that we’ve mostly seen photos that look like they’ve come from the quiet early scenes, before John is called back into the fray.

As it stands, no release date has been set for Rambo V: Last Blood, though it’s believed to be dropping at some point in the fall. In the meantime, you can expect Stallone to keep the set pics coming.
