Look away now, Rangers. Rita Repulsa has descended on Angel Grove ready to wreak havoc and judging by this new image pulled from the upcoming Power Rangers movie, Elizabeth Banks’ battle-ready witch is going to have some fun while doing so.

Unveiled via the film’s official Twitter page as part of the ‘#RepulsaTakesOver’ campaign, the pic above came tethered with a sinister warning: “Thought you saw the last of me!? Ignoramus, you thought wrong. I have glorious catastrophic plans for the holiday season.” For an alien sorceress hellbent on galactic domination, Rita Repulsa sure knows her way around social media.

As for Power Rangers itself, Lionsgate’s effects-heavy reboot has taken the core DNA of the hit ’90s phenomenon and slapped on a new lick of paint, a creative process that has resulted in radical new looks for both Alpha 5 (to be voiced by Bill Hader) and Repulsa herself. Sporting a sleek, metallic battle suit (see above), Repulsa’s redesign was really put into perspective when concept artist Matt Frank offered a peek at ‘Xeno-Rita’, a monstrous interpretation of the character that would have featured in Max Landis’ canned Power Rangers pitch, had things panned out differently.

But now that Dean Israelite’s reboot is barrelling down on its March release date, fans can look forward to clocking eyes on their newfound heroes: Dacre Montgomery as Jason/Red Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly/Pink Ranger, RJ Cyler as Scott Billy/Blue Ranger, Becky G as Trini/Yellow Ranger and finally, Ludi Lin as Zack/Black Ranger.

Power Rangers is expected to make a beeline for theaters on March 24, 2017, where Israelite’s redo will have one less box office competitor to worry about, after King Arthur: Legend of the Sword was pushed back two months to May 12, 2017 earlier this week.
