Rob Liefeld Says A Deadpool/Spider-Man Team-up Would Be The Ultimate Marvel Movie

One element about Deadpool's already established movies that is certainly a plus when it comes to his hopeful inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that they've pretty much been their own thing. Think about it: there's been no significant overlap with Fox's X-Men flicks, and they've offered different interpretations of Colossus and Juggernaut. That said, Kevin Feige and company could easily import Ryan Reynolds without having to worry about recasting their own D. Piddy. The X-Men as a group, however, will no doubt be rebooted.

Whenever everything finally comes together though, we should be treated to even more dream mashups on the big screen. Believe me, I’m right there with those of you already clamoring for an Avengers vs. X-Men movie, or to see someone like Wolverine fighting alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

In the opinion of Rob Liefeld, whom you may know best as the Merc with a Mouth’s creator, Deadpool teaming up with Spider-Man would rake in some serious box office dough. In a recent Instagram post, he shared some artwork of his own uniting the two icons (seen below), along with the following statement:

“This would be the ultimate Marvel Team Up movie! Who in their right mind doesn’t go nuts over this pair??? If this ever happens heads would explode!”

For those unaware, Peter Parker and Wade Wilson have actually co-headlined a comic book of their own, so the source material is already there. Granted, the latter may have to clean up his pottymouth if they were to ride together in Tinseltown, but it’d be worth it.

Come to think of it, there’ve been recent reports of Deadpool possibly showing up in what we’re tentatively calling “Spider-Man 3,” but those have since been shot down by another source. Still, it’s best we wait and see how the situation plays out – and keep our fingers crossed, of course.
