The clip in question show Tony Stark staring mournfully at a photo of himself and Peter Parker, the latter of whom was last seen turning to dust in at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. The image brought back some painful memories for many filmgoers, but if you’d like a closer look at Iron Man and Spider-Man together once more, Robert Downey Jr. has shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the day the picture was taken. In the caption, the Iron Man star simply commented:

“Hahaha… We are stoked…”

Incidentally, the post has been flooded with birthday messages from fans, since Downey turns 53 today.

The funny thing is that while Stark is currently mourning over Peter’s demise, the wall-crawler is the only one of the pair with a confirmed future in the franchise. As you’re likely well aware, Spider-Man: Far From Home is due for release a few months from now, and producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige have both said the film takes place after the events of Endgame.

But while it seems inevitable that Spidey won’t stay dead for long, it’s widely assumed that this month’s release will serve as Iron Man’s final outing in the MCU. If so, then we’ll find out if a quiet retirement or a heroic death awaits Peter’s mentor when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th. After that, Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out on July 5th.
