Avengers Infinity War MCU

Avengers: Endgame Directors Thank Fans For Waiting For The Trailer

The wait for the Avengers: Endgame trailer was truly painful. Each week seemed to bring fresh hope that was continually dashed upon the rocks. First one date would come and all the 'industry insiders' would tell us to set our watches, then it would come and go without a trailer. Things almost reached breaking point over the last two weeks: everyone seemed certain that the trailer would land on November 28th after a special screening of Avengers: Infinity War - but that came and went without even a morsel of news. Even over the last week the trailer was once again delayed by the supremely inconvenient death of President George H.W. Bush, who after 94 years just had to give up the ghost the week of release and delay it further.

First, one date would arrive and all the industry insiders would tell us to set our watches, then it would come and go without a trailer. Things almost reached breaking point over the last two weeks, as everyone seemed certain that the preview would land on November 28th after a special screening of Avengers: Infinity War – but that came and went without even a morsel of news.

Even over the last week the trailer was once again delayed by the supremely inconvenient death of President George H.W. Bush, who after 94 years just had to give up the ghost the week of release and delay it further. We kid, of course.

But now, finally, it’s here. And to show that they recognize our patience, the Russo Brothers have a touching message for the fans:

For those who have been here since the beginning.
For those who have joined along the way.
For the best fans in the Universe.
This trailer is for you…
With much love and gratitude for your patience,
The RB’s

D’aww, that’s nice of them. To be fair, this trailer was worth the wait. It’s given us a look at the world beyond Thanos’ snap, shown us where our heroes are physically and emotionally in the immediate aftermath, answered (and disproved) a couple of fan theories and, even within all the sadness, given us a smile when Scott Lang reappeared demanding to be let into Avengers HQ.

So, what’s next? Well, now that the film’s marketing campaign has officially begun, expect the usual sneak peeks and various leaks from magazines, toy companies and other merchandising opportunities. We may also get another trailer attached to Captain Marvel and possibly one during the Super Bowl in early February.

The Avengers: Endgame hype train has just left the station folks and its final stop is a multiplex near you on April 26th, 2019!
