In fact, you probably shouldn’t be surprised if Samuel L. Jackson makes a Marvel hat-trick for 2019 and shows up in Avengers: Endgame as well. After all, Fury has a lot of catching up to do, and the fans surely wouldn’t mind seeing him reunite with his old team from 2012’s The Avengers one last time. Speaking of which, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jackson was asked to name his favorite of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, prompting the actor to respond with two respectable answers:

“Nick Fury. Because he’s me. Actually, Black Widow.”

Though it’s hard to take issue with Jackson’s first pick of himself, his genuine answer is a solid choice as well. Despite only landing ensemble and supporting roles in the saga so far, Black Widow has long been a popular favorite of the series, and just as some of her fellow Avengers look ready to depart from the action, Scarlet Johansson’s character is only just getting the spotlight to herself with the upcoming Black Widow solo movie.

So far, we’re having to rely mostly on rumors for our info on this Cate Shortland-helmed flick, but it’s believed that filming will begin this year with a May 1st, 2020, release date in mind. As for Nick Fury, it was reported last year that the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director may have his own Disney Plus show in the works, but regardless of what the future holds for the character, Jackson seems all too happy to continue his run in the MCU.
