Slick Fan Art Imagines Jason Statham As Birds Of Prey’s Black Mask

If you’re even remotely familiar with the Batman mythos, then you’re well aware of how the Dark Knight and his allies boast what is arguably the deepest rogues gallery in all of comics. Thankfully, Birds of Prey will chart some new territory in a big way, for it’ll feature Black Mask as the primary antagonist. This is especially exciting news for those of us yearning to see the underworld existing beyond the likes of Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face, etc.

That said, it appears as though the digital art community is wasting no time when it comes to fan casting Roman Sionis for Cathy Yan’s contribution to the DC on film pantheon. In this case, it’s William Gray who’s placed The Transporter‘s own Jason Statham under the ebony headpiece, and it can be viewed below.

Right now, not too much is known about how Black Mask will factor into the girl gang flick, but a leaked synopsis states that the team will have to recover the young Cassandra Cain from his grasp. If so, they’ll have their work cut out for them, given this guy’s sadistic nature.

As for which characters will make up that squad, we learned last month that none other than Huntress, Black Canary and Rene Montoya will be backing up Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. Who’ll be playing those other gals is the big question, but casting should get underway before long if cameras are to begin rolling on Birds of Prey in early 2019.
