It Sounds Like Avengers 4 Might Be Bringing Back [SPOILERS]

With the exception of Uncle Ben and Bruce Wayne’s parents, no one really dies in comic books, right?

That phrase gets tossed around quite a lot when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, too, as the only real person of interest to bite the bullet – so far, at least – is Agent Phil Coulson. And even he was resurrected for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

So it’s fair to say that Marvel tends to shy away from permanent deaths when dealing with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and their many allies – Tony Stark fell back to Earth and was rudely awoken by a rampaging Hulk in The Avengers, while in Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill survived an unscheduled spacewalk in order to save Gamora. The list goes on, really. But thanks to Avengers: Infinity War, that all changed.

As those who’ve seen the film will know, many characters meet their end and while the heroes who died from Thanos’ snap will likely be back, it would seem that the others – Loki, Heimdall, Gamora and Vision – are gone for good. Or are they?

In a recent interview with E!, Zoe Saldana hinted that her Guardian may actually be involved in Avengers 4, telling them the following when asked how emotional it was saying goodbye to everyone when production ended:

“At least for me, it felt like a TBC, because I knew that we will have to all come back, at some point this fall, and finish up the second – the fourth installment of Avengers. So, it felt like ‘See you later,’ not like a formal goodbye.”

On the surface, this appears to indicate that Gamora will return in the next film. Now, she could just show up in a flashback or something of the sort, but her comments seemingly suggest that she’ll still get to share scenes with a lot of the other cast members, meaning there may be some sort of resurrection for the character.

How exactly that could happen is up for debate, but already, many theories have begun to form – most of them having to do with that scene near the end of the film where Thanos encounters a young Gamora. Additionally, there’s even one wild theory that puts forth the idea of what if Saldana’s Guardian is now the Soul Stone and therefore, the key to defeating the Mad Titan?

We won’t get into it all here, but the internet is rife with speculation and these new comments from the actress are only going to make the wait for Avengers 4 feel that much longer.
