Insider Claims That Star Wars: Episode IX Will Impress The Last Jedi Haters

A source claiming to be part of Star Wars: Episode IX's production has relayed some tantalizing information about the upcoming sequel.

Could Star Wars: Episode IX be the galactic tonic we so desperately crave?

Following the back-to-back launch of The Last Jedi and Solo – one divisive, one inessential – a select portion of the Star Wars fanbase have been left wanting for an old-timey trip to that famous galaxy far, far away. Well, if one production insider is to be believed, Episode IX will deliver just the treat, as Star Wars News Net reports.

Citing a Reddit source (!), the outlet claims that J.J. Abrams and his team are in the process of crafting a super-sized epic, one which far exceeds any other Star Wars movie in terms of scale and scope. And yes, it seems Episode IX is good enough to impress those who loathed The Last Jedi, and those who did not.

‘ThrowAnother9’ also discussed multiple impressions from the set of the film, which is apparently the first time he’s ever been on a Star Wars set. He refused to spoil anything, given that jobs would be on the line if he did, but he was willing to share that two co-workers that are longtime fans of the franchise and Legends material – one of whom enjoyed The Last Jedi, and one who decidedly did not – were both immensely satisfied with the footage that was coming together. As in, “tears of joy” satisfied. That’s some high praise. He also noted that this praise didn’t mean that fans would like absolutely everything in the film, but it certainly seems like Lucasfilm is happy with the film.

It almost goes without saying when a story has been plucked from Reddit, but this rumored tidbit ought to be treated with heightened caution. Plus, considering that Star Wars: Episode IX is among the most anticipated movies of 2019 – second only to Avengers: Endgame – there will always be false reports and misinformation clogging up the pipes of social media. Our advice? Tread lightly.

If there’s one thing we know for certain though, it’s that Star Wars: Episode IX is currently slated for release on December 20th and will signal the bittersweet end of Lucasfilm’s Skywalker Saga.
