Suicide Squad Cast Touch Base On Deleted Scenes: “I Think We Can Fill An Entire DVD”

Suicide Squad is all but set to go down as another marquee movie that fell victim to studio interference, given that reports emerged soon after launch that appeared to reveal some of the production woes that lingered over David Ayer’s anti-hero blockbuster.

Alas, it’ll be months – if not years – before we can pour over the finer details, but at the very least, ardent fans can surely look forward to a handful of deleted scenes being included in the eventual DVD and Blu-ray release of Suicide Squad.

That’s a topic that came to the fore once again over the weekend, when MTV hosted a series of interviews with Task Force X regarding the material that remained on the editing room floor. In it, the likes of Will Smith and Margot Robbie poke fun at some of their ‘favorites’ – a romantic subplot between Deadshot and Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag is a highlight – before Jared Leto gets serious, claiming that Warner Bros. could “fill an entire DVD with deleted scenes.”

Whether the studio will take a leaf from Batman V Superman‘s book and roll out an Ultimate Edition of Suicide Squad is still up for question, but considering the vast amount of expectations and subsequent disappointment surrounding Ayer’s feature, it’s certainly not out of the question.

Currently simmering north of $500 million at the worldwide box office, Suicide Squad continues to perform relatively well in spite of both the middling reviews and its steep second week drop-off – 67 percent, to be specific.
