10) A Few New Shots

Before we get to the fuller moments of the extended cut, let’s run through a couple of small new shots that are added into this version of the movie.

One of these occurs just after Amanda Waller has finally received the go-ahead to form Task Force X. It’s at this point that we cut to Deadshot in his cell, staring out of the tiny window at the dreary day outside. Over the top plays audio of his daughter taken from the footage seen earlier.

Sure, it’s not exactly a groundbreaking moment, as other sequences adequately show us Deadshot’s discontent about being locked up in Belle Reve and his thirst to see his daughter again, but it does further emphasize his state of mind and need to get out.

Another new shot turns up shortly after this, as El Diablo is recovered from his solitary confinement. Just to make sure we know that this guy is dangerous, an extra shot shows a guard in a fire-resistant suit ready to spray Diablo with a high-pressure water hose if he tries anything. Again, other scenes get this across as well, but this one furthers the later surprise when it turns out this potentially deadly felon is actually a pacifist.
