The promo begins with Black Widow observing that the Mad Titan has used the Infinity Stones on another planet, before Steve Rogers resolves that they “go get this son of a —” At this point, the TV spot edits out the bad language, though it’s clear that Cap is in no mood to watch his mouth. And so, after cycling through a series of familiar scenes, the preview takes us to Steve’s showdown with the purple tyrant, who’s wielding a massive new blade, and is backed by an overwhelming army of extra-terrestrial forces.

Incidentally, the moody backdrop to their confrontation has featured in quite a few Endgame trailers and TV spots in recent months. There’s already been a fair amount of speculation that this landscape of smoke and debris is the ruins of the Avengers Compound, which various merchandise suggests might come under attack from Thanos and his minions at some point.

In any case, though the Mad Titan ended last year’s Avengers: Infinity War in a pretty good place, it’s a safe bet that the upcoming sequel won’t go quite so well for the villain, as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes find a way to reverse the snap. That being said, many fans are currently nervous that Cap won’t exactly be riding off into the sunset with this next film, either.

At the very least, it’s generally assumed that Chris Evans will be finishing his run in the MCU with this month’s release, but maybe Cap can still journey back to the 1940s and settle down with Peggy Carter, like some people are hoping. Either way, we’ll find out if Steve survives his final fight with Thanos when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
