Robert Redford is back in the director’s chair with The Company You Keep. On top of his directing duties, Redford will also be starring in the film along with Shia LaBeouf and newcomer Brit Marling (Another Earth).

Thanks to Collider, we have a first look at the film. While the photos don’t reveal much in terms of content, it’s still nice to get a glance at what is sure to be a highly anticipated title.

If you haven’t heard much about the film yet, check out the synopsis below:

Jim Grant (Redford), a civil rights lawyer and single father must go on the run when a brash young reporter (LaBeouf), exposes his true identity as a former 1970s radical fugitive wanted for murder.  Sparking a nationwide manhunt, Grant sets off on a cross-country journey to clear his name.

After Redford‘s last feature, The Conspirator, failed to rock the box office, it would be nice for him to score some awards recognition for The Company You Keep. He is certainly capable of crafting a great movie and it’s a shame that The Conspirator didn’t perform better as it was shot extremely well and the acting was phenomenal.

It also can’t hurt that the film has a spectacular cast which, besides Redford, LaBeouf, and Marling includes Julie Christie, Sam Elliott, Brendan Gleeson, Terrence Howard, Richard Jenkins, Anna Kendrick, Stanley Tucci, Nick Nolte, Chris Cooper, and Susan Sarandon.

The Company You Keep is scheduled to hit theaters sometime in Spring 2013.
