Team Thor Comes Together In Yet Another Thor: Ragnarok Promo

Forget Team Iron Man and Team Cap; the latest promo for Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok asks you to throw your support behind Team Thor.

If you’ve yet to have your fill of Thor: Ragnarok content, we’ve got some good news: Marvel has premiered yet another spectacular promo that ushers Team Thor into the spotlight. And not a moment too soon.

As you’ll no doubt remember, Chris Hemsworth’s Asgardian was left on the sidelines during Captain America: Civil War – ditto for Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) – during which time Marvel’s marketing campaign was divided between Team Cap and Team Iron Man.

Granted, there’s a good reason for Thor’s absence, as writer-director Taika Waititi has since explained that the God of Thunder has been busy searching for wayward Infinity Stones in his pursuit of Thanos, the Mad Titan. That arc will naturally dovetail with Avengers: Infinity War come 2018, but before Thor regroups with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – not to mention the Guardians of the Galaxy – a trip to Sakaar is on the cards.

It’s the far-flung alien planet on which Hulk has grown into a bona fide gladiator, which can only portend all sorts of wacky fun for our God of Thunder, as today’s TV spot attests. Forced to partake in Sakaar’s brutal contest, much to the delight of Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster, up above you’ll get another peek at what has been described as the “fight of the century,” which can also be viewed as the second round of Thor and Hulk’s initial scrap in Joss Whedon’s Avengers. Our money’s still on the jade giant, for what it’s worth.

Bringing together a who’s who of Hollywood talent – Cate Blanchett as Hela, Goddess of Death, is arguably worth the price of admission alone – Thor: Ragnarok is booked in for release on November 3rd. And you needn’t worry about waiting another three years to catch Thor and Hulk on the big screen, as Avengers: Infinity War is due to arrive in May.
