Twilight Franchise Had The Perfect Reaction To Robert Pattinson As Batman

Following the news breaking that Robert Pattinson will be the next Batman, the Twilight franchise Tweeted the perfect response.

Earlier this week, Variety not only broke the news that Robert Pattinson has been cast in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, but also proceeded to break the Internet, too, sending fans into a frenzy.

As expected, everyone and their grandmother has been chiming in on why the former Twilight star is or isn’t the right choice to bring the Dark Knight to life, but if you ask us, we’re actually on board with the casting. For one, Pattinson’s a super talented actor, and if you don’t believe us, just go check out some of the recent indie work he’s been doing. Not only that, but he’s definitely got the right look for a young Bruce Wayne/Batman and we imagine he’ll offer a pretty unique take on the iconic character.

Clearly, though, not everyone feels that way, as numerous petitions have already sprung up calling for WB to replace him. But what does the team behind Twilight think of Robert Pattinson as the next Batman? Well, they’ve now weighed in on Twitter, posting a short but perfect reaction to the news.

Obviously, this is a reference to the whole Team Edward vs. Team Jacob phenomenon that swept the web back in the Twilight days. And though everyone seems pretty certain that Pattinson will indeed be our next Caped Crusader, it’s important to remember that it’s not 100% just yet.

Following Variety’s initial report about his casting, several outlets clarified it’s not a done deal at this time. From what we understand, Nicholas Hoult, Armie Hammer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are all said to be in contention still, though Pattinson is at the top of the list and all but locked in.

With any luck, Warner Bros. will make an official announcement on who their new Batman is in the coming weeks. But until then, tell us, would you be alright with Robert Pattinson taking the role?
