With both men willing to sacrifice nearly everything they hold dear to take the other down, it’s impossible to say which of them could be about to fall, but based on what we see in this trailer, it’s not just Axe’s business practices they’ll clash over. Once again, it looks like Wendy will come between them, but it appears as if she’s happy embarking on her own path in life now.

For more on what to expect from Billions, here’s the newly released synopsis:

Billions Season 2 picks up immediately after the season one finale, as hard-charging U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) squares off against billionaire hedge fund king Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Lewis), scorching the earth in a costly war for personal domination. It’s law versus money, with power, sex, and the soul of New York in the balance. Maggie Siff stars as Wendy Rhoades, Chuck’s estranged wife and the top performance coach in the hedge fund world. Malin Akerman plays Lara Axelrod, Axe’s fiercely loyal and street-smart wife. Season two finds the characters vying for control in a changing world that presents an existential threat. For all of them, it’s a choice between evolution and extinction.

Season 2 of Billions has booked an impressive list of guest stars this year, with talent including Rob Morrow, Dan Soder, Kelly AuCoin, Mary-Louise Parker, Danny Strong, James Wolk, Christopher Denham, Glenn Fleshler and Eric Bogosian set to appear. Lewis and Giamatti remain the main draws though, which is a good thing, as the chemistry they share in the series is incredible. That was evident from throughout the first season, and watching how things continue to escalate between these two promises to be a lot of fun and extremely compelling.
