War Horse Trailer Released Online
Ladies and Gentlemen prepare the betting slips for awards, Steven Spielberg is back. Today we bring you the trailer for Spielberg’s upcoming World War I epic War Horse, which gives us a very good look at what we can expect when the film hits in December.
Admittedly, it looks astonishingly sweeping. Most of the trailer is made up of shots of the horse running with some footage of Niels Arestrup as the Grandfather talking. Those who have read the book and seen the stage play though will know that there is a whole lot more meat to it than just that.
It tells the story of Albert who loses his horse to the army and is sent out to help the war effort in France, where animals were used for all sorts of jobs like cavalry and pulling machinery. Very few came back. The story develops to Albert going to look for the horse in a search that will have most audience members reaching for their tissues.
Albert is played by newcomer Jeremy Irvine and is supported by Arestrup, Peter Mullan, Emily Watson, Benedict Cumberbatch, and David Thewlis.
War Horse hits theaters on December 28th.
