Ryan Reynolds’ “Twin” Brother Mocks Deadpool 2 In New Interview

Having seen Deadpool 2 cross the half-billion dollar mark at the worldwide box office last week, you couldn’t really fault Ryan Reynolds for taking himself a wee bit more seriously these days. Thankfully, though, this is not the case, and we’ve got the unabashed advertisement to prove it.

In an endorsement for his newly purchased gin company, Aviation, the Canadian-born actor is interviewed by his “twin” brother, Gordon, who clearly has no problem mocking his much more successful sibling. The trailer-length advert, which you can check out below, isn’t short on hilarious one-liners at the expense of Ryan and his latest movie wearing the “big red body condom.”

Speaking of the David Leitch-directed, R-rated farce, which pulled in $23.6 million stateside and $56.3 million overseas last weekend, Deadpool 2 has now soared to nearly $600 million worldwide and surpassed The Hangover Part II to become the highest grossing comedy sequel of all-time. The next record up is the highest grossing comedy sequel in North America, which is held by Meet the Fockers‘ $279 million, something the foul-mouthed mercenary should have no issue trouncing by month’s end.

Incredibly, with the movie doing so well, Reynolds has downplayed talk of a threequel, but fear not, for the Merc with a Mouth will be back for that X-Force spinoff we keep hearing so much about. Actually, if the proposed acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company goes through, we might even get to see our avocado-faced hero in a Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool crossover. However, that’s a pretty big “if.”
