Warner Bros. Eyeing Avengers: Endgame Actress To Play Batgirl

Remember the Batgirl movie? It seemed set to be with us very soon back when Joss Whedon was attached to write and direct in 2017. However, after the debacle that was Justice League, Whedon walked away from the project. A year later, the script was revamped with Birds of Prey's Christina Hodson redeveloping how Barbara Gordon should be portrayed in the DCEU. Things seemed to be going well with the pic back in January, but we haven't had an update since then.

Until now, that is. We Got This Covered has been told by a source that WB has drawn up its wishlist for who should play Barbara Gordon. And while there are apparently a few actresses who are on it, one person they have their eye on is Katherine Langford, best known to Netflix users for her breakout role in 13 Reasons Why.

Of course, superhero fans who kept up with the news surrounding Avengers: Endgame before its release will also know the actress. That’s because Langford was cast in an undisclosed role in the Marvel movie earlier this year but was nowhere to be seen in the finished product. The Russo brothers later came clean that she would’ve played a teenage version of Iron Man’s daughter Morgan in a scene that was ultimately excised from the final cut.

Clearly, Langford is destined for a superhero film role at some point, though, so DC may snap her up instead. She did recently reveal her new redheaded look, which we thought was an Endgame hint at the time, but could now give us a taste of how she’d look as Batgirl, a character known for her auburn locks in nearly all versions (except Batman & Robin).

We’ll keep you posted when more on Batgirl comes in, but in the meantime, tell us, would Katherine Langford be your pick to play Babs? Let us know in the comments section below.
