One glance at all the online fan art of Zac Efron as Kyle Rayner or Wolverine makes it pretty clear that there’s a lot of demand out there to see the Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile star tackle a comic book movie role. And according to recent rumors, he may very well get the chance to do just that in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Several reports have sprung up over the last few months that say Efron’s being eyed for a part that was teased in the post-credits scene of 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. We are, of course, referring to Adam Warlock, someone the fans have been waiting to see in the MCU for many years now. And though there’s still no confirmation on if he’ll actually be featuring in Vol. 3, or if Efron’s actually in talks for the part, some new fan art has surfaced this week which at least provides us with an idea of how the actor could look as Warlock.
Seen in the gallery below, this awesome design has the star in a pretty cool costume and makes a good case for why he should be cast. Whether Gunn and Marvel Studios will feel the same way remains to be seen, but for now, you can check out the fan art for yourself and see what you think.
With the aforementioned threequel not expected to begin production for a few more years, the mysterious case of Adam Warlock probably won’t be solved for a while yet. As we said above, though he was teased in Vol. 2, no one has confirmed that that means he’ll have a role in Vol. 3. We assume he will, but until James Gunn or Marvel comment on the situation, we can’t say for sure.
In any case, Zac Efron wouldn’t be the worst choice to play Adam and whether it’s in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 or another film, we imagine it’s just a matter of time now before he finds himself in the MCU or a superhero-related project.
