This week’s musical forecast is ‘Veech, ‘Veech and more ‘Veech. Leading up to the official release of Avicii‘s sophomore album, Storiesthe Swedish DJ/producer is dropping bombs from the full-length studio effort, and the latest takes the form of the melancholic “Gonna Love Ya.”

The 14th track from the album, which comes out tomorrow through Universal Music, showcases the ever-so-slight tropical house leaning of his other recent releases. Even though it sounds like an overly safe middle ground between all the music that’s popular right now, “Gonna Love Ya” has its redeeming qualities. The clearly intentional broken syntax in verses like “I’m gonna love ya when no one would / ‘Cause I swear you deserve so good,” which were contributed by vocalist Sandro Cavazza, adds to the track’s appeal curiously, and soft instrumentals accompany the understated production elements.

Meanwhile, the EDM world waits with baited breath as the official release of Avicii‘s Stories is only a day away. For now, though, listen to “Gonna Love Ya” above and let us know if you’re looking forward to the rest of the album by taking a trip down to the comments section below.
