Bakermat is back again with another painfully gorgeous single. Everything that “Teach Me” grew to exemplify in 2015, “Games” is going to do just that and more for this year. Originally premiered on his The Circus radio show, “Games” touts a shade of melancholy soul that’s breaking the mold of what we expect from the Dutch producer.

Marie Plassard gives a stirring vocal performance akin to a polaroid documenting a cross country road trip, and Bakermat has crafted around her lyrics another delicatessen of invigorating house. Beatific guitar permeates the mix, oceanic swells call in a woeful ambience, and churning shuffles give us something to dance to.

Bakermat’s productions are smoother than an aged single malt, and part of it might be due to such an unobtrusive kick. It’s definitely present in “Games,” and it feels incredible, but it’s not overpowering. It’s just enough low-end to pump the track along, and gives a crisp air of confidence that ties everything together.

Listen to Bakermat’s latest work above and as always, drop a comment letting us know what you think.
