Contrasting the lighthearted future bass style of the original, Getter’s version of “Alone” transforms the single into a monster of a dubstep banger with pummelling percussion and an assault of metallic bass. After an introduction comprised of recognizable assets from Marshmello’s production, the Suh Dude mastermind derails the song with spastic low end rhythms, resulting in a remix that bears little in common with its source material.

While the new flip of “Alone” certainly brings the heat, it does so at the cost of the heart and soul from Marshmello’s original.

Getter‘s remix will officially drop on Monstercat on August 25 and will serve as his second release with the esteemed label.
