When Flume released his highly anticipated sophomore album Skin this May, the Aussie producer received universal acclaim for the landmark work from critics and fans alike. With one of the biggest records of the year, we were bound to wind up with a ton of remixes from the recently released LP. And now, up and comer Illenium has entered the ring, dropping his take on the Tove Lo driven single “Say It” in his live set.
Illenium’s remix features a new chord progression layered beneath Tove Lo’s recognizable vocal hooks. The drops feature a staggered future bass style rhythm, with booming sub kicks and fluttering synth chords. It’s not a major departure from the original, but it’s always interesting to hear a remix that attempts to switch up the musical structure from the original.
Now that Illenium has teased his “Say It” remix in the live setting, fans will no doubt be impatiently waiting for an official release. As always, we’ll keep you posted with more updates as they become available.
