Lane 8’s “Innerbloom” remix opens with pastoral piano chords and vocal chop melodies, creating a spellbinding introduction to the seven minute long rework. The producer lets this airy passage drag on as synth pads grow in intensity, before the persistent pounding of a kick drum starts to carve out a mechanical rhythm. Lane 8 crafts the kind of drifting mix that takes no shame in allowing its best elements to repeat for long periods of time, as gorgeous synths linger on to beautiful effect beneath the familiar vocals.

Lane 8‘s new flip is the first to surface ahead of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s remix collection for “Innerbloom,” and it’s easy to see why his version would lead the collection, which is set to be released on October 21.
