Last night, we brought you the unfortunate news that a young woman had jumped overboard during Mad Decent Boat Party. Now, the US Coast Guard has identified the individual as 24-year-old Kaylyn Rose Summer of South Carolina.

We still don’t have the full story just yet, but according to the official press release from Mad Decent, it seems like this is a case of suicide. The body still hasn’t been recovered, but a search is currently underway.

For more, you can check out the full statement below:

“Thursday, November 12 during the chartered cruise on Norwegian Pearl, a female guest was observed intentionally going overboard while the ship was sailing the Yucatan Channel. The ship’s crew immediately initiated rescue measures, including deploying three rescue boats and notifying the Coast Guard and other relevant authorities. The search for the guest is ongoing. Both the ship and charter company teams are providing support to the family and all impacted guests during this difficult time.”

Of course, the remainder of Mad Decent Boat Party has been cancelled and the ship is headed back to Miami. We’ll keep you posted when we hear any further updates on the situation, but at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with Kaylyn’s family and friends.
