Life In Color Announces “Rise Up” By CEO’s Brother Solano As Official 2016 Anthem

We're supposed to have learned to make it all about the music, but apparently it's still just all about who you know. A post to Life In Color (LIC)'s website organizers announced "Rise Up" by Solano as the official anthem of the paint party tour's 2016 edition - but conveniently failed to mention that the Miami-based artist is the CEO's brother.

This year was supposed to have taught us that we should make it all about the music, but apparently it’s still just all about who you know. A post to Life In Color (LIC)’s website announced “Rise Up” by Solano as the official anthem of the paint party tour’s 2016 edition – but conveniently failed to mention that the Miami-based artist is the CEO’s brother.

Indeed, David Solano is the sibling of none other than LIC Founder and CEO Sebastian Solano. When the latter brother first enlisted him to play private house parties in 2006 he still went by the stage name DJ Climax, and curiously, even though he now goes by his family name alone he no longer seems to embrace any connections to his brother. When asked by Your EDM how he got involved with LIC in 2014, he explained, “I met the head guy just going to school and they were doing the parties while I was doing the DJ thing.”

After all, “Rise Up” couldn’t have been selected as the LIC 2016 anthem by its merit alone. The track offers little more than by-the-numbers future bass that distracts from its yawn-worthy sound design by adhering to a safe, riskless formula.

At this point, you almost have to wonder if Life In Color has redlined its performer contracts to ensure “Rise Up” by Solano placement in DJ sets throughout the tour.
