Two Friends Incorporate Electric Guitar Into Remix Of Galantis’ “No Money”

The lighthearted tone of Galantis' "No Money" has offered an innocent counterbalance to the post-EDM soundscapes that have grown more popular during the 2016 festival season. Not keen on bending to the will of the masses, Two Friends have given the track more main stage appeal in their new remix.

The lighthearted tone of Galantis’ “No Money” has offered an innocent counterbalance to the post-EDM soundscapes that have grown more popular during the 2016 festival season. Looking to think even further outside the box, Two Friends have given the track an instrumental edge in their new remix.

The childlike vocals of the original are largely left intact, with a progressive house buildup rounding out the rest of the arrangement. In place of a drop, however, what sounds like a rhythmic electric guitar solo takes center stage for several measures.

Despite the novelty of the guitar section, though, the remix is obnoxiously melodic at points and doesn’t reflect a heightened awareness of sound design subtleties on the part of Two Friends. It’s hard to imagine it competing with reworks from the likes of Dillon Francis – in addition to however many others come out over the next several months.

Nonetheless, Two Friends‘ remix of Galantis’ “No Money” might still garner support from DJs on the festival circuit, and if you find it deserving, tell us why by commenting below.
