A Tennessee ER nurse recently discovered a collection of bizarre stickers plastered across a treatment room after a patient was discharged. The nurse, Jaleesa, shared the discovery in a TikTok video where she expressed disbelief, as reported by The Nerd Stash.
Jaleesa found the mess while cleaning the room to prepare it for the next patient. Stickers covered everything from the sink handles to the room phone, including mock warning labels on both faucet handles that referenced HIV and AIDS.
The patient did not stop at the sink, as the room phone was completely taken over by his labeling project. “Not only has he labeled the phone, he’s rubberbanded it,” Jaleesa said in the video. The phone is clearly marked with a sticker that says, Caution: Do NOT touch!
The stickers came from the room’s own label printer
The ER nurse eventually traced the stickers to the room’s label printer. “I come over here to the label printer, and this is what I see,” Jaleesa said. The patient had apparently been using the hospital’s label printer to make the stickers himself.
The remaining labels left in the printer showed a strange mix of moods. Some of the messages were surprisingly kind, with stickers that read, “Thank you for everything” and “You’re doing a great job!” There was even a small drawing of a person giving a thumbs up.
The tone shifted quickly as Jaleesa pulled more labels from the machine. The later stickers included phrases like LMAO, a curse word, and a drawing of a hand giving the middle finger. However, the ER nurse appeared more amused than upset by what the patient left behind.
Her caption wished fellow ER nurses a happy ER Nurses Week, and her commentary matched that tone. “Healthcare is not a real place,” Jaleesa said in the video, later adding, “You can’t make this f— up!”
Not every nurse’s workplace video gets this kind of reaction. In 2022, four nurses were fired from Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta after posting a TikTok about maternity patients that the hospital called disrespectful and unprofessional.
Commenters were mostly entertained by Jaleesa’s discovery. One joked that the patient didn’t need to be in the ER, since he clearly had too much time on his hands, while another suggested the hospital should charge his insurance for the stickers. Another viewer pointed out, “Mind you, this is the work of an adult.”
