When Batman: Arkham City launches this fall, there will be one more resident in town that the Caped Crusader will have to look out for. Announced today was the inclusion of Mr. Freeze as a villain in the upcoming game from Rocksteady.

The introduction trailer shows off Mr. Freeze and gives us a brief look at his story arc and what to expect from him in the game. He definitely looks like a formidable opponent and his presence will likely please fans and add a lot to the overall gameplay experience.

I’ve personally always loved Mr. Freeze and I’m really happy to see Rocksteady bringing so many wonderful villains into the game. This is truly going to be one hell of an experience, especially for Batman fans.

While some may say that adding too many villains can be a bad thing, I’m all for it. Games are a very different medium than film and although adding too many villains to a film can mess things up, I think it will work well in Batman: Arkham City.

The first game left out too many fan favorites and the developers are trying to make up for that. With so many colorful villains, all sporting different gameplay mechanics, you can bet that there will never be a dull fight in the city of Arkham.

Batman: Arkham City releases for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 18.
