Hotel Garuda recently tried their hand at remixing Blonde and Craig David’s “Nothing Like This,” resulting in a club-friendly version of the song that retains just enough of the original’s swagger to hold the interest of a its audience.

Hotel Garuda were one of six acts to remix “Nothing Like This” as part of a series. In their take, the rubbery bass lines of the original are downplayed tremendously to make room for rave piano melodies, and when paired with creative edits of Craig David’s iconic vocal, they make for a tasteful reimagining.

That being said, for its strong composition and crisp sound design, the original “Nothing Like This” made for a tough act to follow. Hotel Garuda’s version isn’t a poor track, but it does fall short of truly improving upon any of the elements of the original.

Regardless, listen to Hotel Garuda‘s remix of “Nothing Like This” in the SoundCloud player above and look out for more from the future house duo in the months to follow.
