Masked house mainstay Claptone must have been worried that people would stop talking about his upcoming album, Charmer, because he’s released another track from the highly anticipated effort. “The Only Thing” is tasteful house music fit for a lounge ambience, and makes for strong addition to his already respectable discography.

While “The Only Thing” could perhaps stand to be more challenging to the listener, it bears the universal appeal of proper house music by blending back-to-basics instrumentals with understated synth work. A soulful top line by an as-yet-unnamed vocalist completes the picture, making the track just cerebral enough to stand out in your mind.

As for the rest of Charmer, it’s slated for release on October 16th. However, five of the thirteen tracks on the disc are already available for download – at the same place you can pre-order the album in its entirety.

In the meantime, check back with us for more new tracks from Claptone as he makes them available.
