Love him or hate him, David Guetta has played an undeniable role in the proliferation of dance music on a global scale. The Parisian DJ/producer may have become something of a joke to much of the EDM community in recent years, but the genre may not have shifted into mainstream consciousness if not for his influence.
However, what’s not nearly as well documented is the story of the influences that lead Guetta himself to become the global icon that he is today. A BBC documentary titled David Guetta: Made In Ibiza has been made available to worldwide viewers after premiering back in July, and it features BBC’s own Danny Howard accompanying Guetta through a tour of the island that takes him through the locations that played important roles in his career – discussing the first time he walked into Club Space and the Pacha residency that made him famous, among other things.
