Boost For The Win With Codemasters’ Latest Trailer For DiRT Showdown

With time running out, you're sitting in second, with an aim at a first place championship on one of DiRT Showdown's mayhem-filled courses. What do you do? Hope that the first place driver will make a mistake, allowing him to be passed before the finish line? That could work, but using force and/or nitrous would work better. This isn't the Codemasters rally game we saw earlier this generation. It's much more of an arcade experience than ever before, meaning that being a bad sport is allowed.

BOOST FOR THE WIN WITH THE NEW FULL-CONTACT DiRT® SHOWDOWN™ GAMEPLAY TRAILER

Nitrous Deployed, Jumps Hit and Rivals Slammed in Turbo-Charged New DiRT Showdown Video Now Playing at www.dirtgame.com

Los Angeles, Calif. – April 10, 2012 – Codemasters® today premiered “Boost For The Win”, the new gameplay video for DiRT® Showdown™ now playing at www.dirtgame.com.

The “Boost For The Win” video features the chaotic, full-contact, all-action racing set to star in DiRT Showdown. On the streets, in the snow and through the dirt, buggies, saloons, muscle cars and more all go head-to-head in chaotic circuit races where drivers must charge ahead of the pack by any means necessary.

DiRT Showdown’s range of racing events challenge players to negotiate jumps, pinch-points, tire-walls, barrels, and more in frenzied races where no holds are barred. Racing events include Domination, where players must set the fastest time through sectors on the track, Eliminator, where last place drops out of the race when time runs out, and Race Off in which players must do whatever it takes to get over the line first.

To get in front and stay in front, drivers can use a rechargeable boost to sprint ahead of their rivals and slam opponents into obstacles, whether racing in career mode, eight-player online races or in two-player split-screen.

DiRT Showdown will be Codemasters’ most connected game ever – split-screen multiplayer, eight-player online racing, on and off-line quick-fire party games and YouTube integration all come as standard. Players will also be able to issue ‘Showdown Challenges’ to compete with friends whether they are online or not.

Powered by the award-winning EGO Game Technology Platform, DiRT Showdown is the action-packed extension of the award-winning DiRT off-road racing series and is coming this May for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and PC.
