Donald Trump throws another fit as Truth Social users suggest electing Ron DeSantis instead of him

Primary season is already looking… lively?

Welp, it looks like the 2024 Republican presidential primaries are already preheating up a storm. On Wednesday, mediocre businessman Donald Trump lashed out on Truth Social in his inimitably illiterate fashion at Florida man and apparent governor Ron DeSantis, whom the entire world presumes is his biggest competition, followed closely by whatever that smell is.

“Thank you. The real Ron is a RINO GLOBALIST, who closed quickly down Florida and even its beaches. Loved the Vaccines and wasted big money on “Testing.” How quickly people forget!?”

How quickly people forget, indeed. The infamous septuagenarian received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in January 2021, and hated it so much that he admitted to getting a booster later that year.

Trump’s uniquely crafted post (“Who closed quickly down Florida” — who puts words together like this?) was a response to Truth Social user @Duece2112 claiming that Trump would “destroy desantis [sic] in the primary.”

Trump and DeSantis have been trading digs for a while now — in person, in the news media, and, one might imagine, in interpretive TikTok dances. According to Politico, Trump said this past weekend that it would be “very disloyal” of DeSantis if he were to run for president in 2024. Then he got a little extra when confronted with polls showing DeSantis beating him in certain states:

“He won’t be leading, I got him elected,” Trump said. “I’m the one that chose him.”

Damn.

For his part, DeSantis none-too-subtly reminded us that he got reelected, unlike a certain biggest loser. We have little doubt that the Trump-DeSantis show will be renewed for at least one more season, so pop some popcorn, get yourself a refreshing beverage, and send out your very best vibes for life, the universe, and everything — including, but not limited to, the future of democracy.
