Well, after the most recent development from the Electric Zoo camp, we can definitely tell you where we would spend most of our time at the festival.

The New York City event has unveiled its newest draw in the form of the Awakenings stage. Curated by organizers of the Amsterdam gathering of the same namesake, the stage will feature sets by the likes of Adam Beyer, Get Real, Claude VonStroke and The Martinez Brothers, appealing to the discerning palates of proper house and techno enthusiasts.

In last year’s edition of Electric Zoo, the Sunday School Grove stage served a comparable role in terms of its intended audience – but the promotional might of the Awakenings team will likely prove more advantageous to the former festival’s organizers as it begins to ramp up headliner and stage announcements. Considering that Electric Zoo has hinted at a reimagining of sorts, a focus on the more tasteful facets of dance music comes as little surprise.

However, only time will tell if the updates to Electric Zoo‘s entertainment will serve to bolster its street cred. After all, a lot of that depends on you; based on the festival’s reinvention so far, would you go out of your way to attend? Check out the lineup for the Awakenings stage below and let us know in the comments.
