James Gunn offers a major update on Wonder Woman’s prospective DCU future

The DC head has planned way ahead.

The DC movie universe is going through a hard reset right now with certain stories and characters such as Wonder Woman being seemingly abandoned, and while Gunn hasn’t mentioned any plans to bring her into the fold, he has given fans some hope.

Since James Gunn and Peter Safran became co-heads of DC Studios, fans have had to come to terms with the reality of the DCU ignoring the films before it. Whilst that’s arguably what the franchise needs, we can’t say we aren’t a little gutted. Zack Snyder’s take on the franchise had many flaws, but there were also some great diamonds in the rough.

One fan decided to question Gunn directly about the fate of Wonder Woman within his DCU.

Gunn’s been very good at keeping his cards close to his chest and it seems like he’s not going to slip up here either. It is reassuring to know that the character will be making a return to our screens and that, hopefully, she won’t be stuck on the sidelines for too long. However, that’s about as much as Gunn’s willing to share at this stage.

Another thing fans are curious to know is if Gal Gadot will be reprising her role as Wonder Woman. Whilst many of the original DCEU cast will not be returning, due in large in part to the old regime at DC, Gunn has not confirmed the same for Gadot. In fact, he even suggested that there may be a place for her still in his DCU, with reports claiming that the doors are open for her and a few other DC stars to return to their roles.

Whilst no one can say for sure what Gunn’s plans are yet, we can rest assured knowing that our favorite Amazonian warrior isn’t going to be sidelined by the new heads of DC Studios.
