Mau5trap staple Lane 8 has dropped a new single titled “With Me” in anticipation of his upcoming tour this fall. The tour will be an extension of the “This Never Happened” concept that was first debuted at San Francisco’s Mezzanine earlier in the summer, utilizing a ban of cell phones during the performance in order to create a more intimate experience for fans. Having just delivered a fresh “Strobe” remix for mau5trap’s 100th release, we’re excited to get another new single from the producer so soon.
“With Me” features a minimalist techno approach as Lane 8 crafts a stark production with simple rhythms and ear catching synth work. A repeated bassline runs throughout the track layered over shuffling drum patterns and drifting melodies. Falsetto vocals and reverb drenched atmosphere swell beneath the surface over the course of the song’s six minutes, adding a sense of dimension to the echoed synths and mechanical rhythms.
The This Never Happened tour is slated to kick off November 3 at 45 East in Portland, Oregon and will see Lane 8 making stops in major cities across North America including Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Denver and more. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.
