Swedish producer and DJ Otto Knows is starting 2016 off with a bang, teaming up with viral violinist Lindsey Stirling and vocalist Alex Aris on a new track titled “Dying For You.” The single was released this week along with a lyric video that put its pop overtones on full display.
“Dying For You” opens with a series of moody piano chords and gentle claps before Aris’ smooth tenor joins the mix, contributing a traditional pop sensibility to the new single. Lindsey Stirling brings a classical edge to the track with her skillful violin playing, giving the drops an upbeat and intrinsically musical vibe. Featuring a largely organic sound, “Dying For You” focuses on physical instruments such as the piano and strings, while Aris leads the track with pristine vocals.
With a helping hand from some strong collaborators, “Dying For You” serves as a strong start to the year for Otto Knows, and is sure to become a staple in his future live sets.
