Towards the end of their live set at Sunset Music Festival in Tampa last week, The Chainsmokers made a stir by debuting some new music for a packed audience. At the very end of their set, the duo give an impromptu speech about the success they’ve found over the last three years, going from openers at the festival to headlining with Jack Ü this year. They then mention that although their “manager is gonna be pissed,” that they would play a new song.

Following in the vein of recent releases like “Never Let Me Down” and “Roses,” the ID features upbeat rhythms, poppy vocals and catchy future bass drops. The uplifting sound and dancefloor ready beats place the new song up there with the group’s best work, and fans will no doubt be looking forward to an official release.

The Chainsmokers‘ manager may not be happy about it, but we’re stoked to say the least to get to preview new material from the duo. Skip forward to around the 46 minute mark in the video above to hear the new song.
