Uncharted 3 Will Not Have Single Player DLC

Downloadable content is running wild in the video game industry these days. Be it an extra character in Batman or an online pass in Battlefield, nearly every game out there is finding a way to make your game feel that much more unfinished. Luckily, Uncharted 3 will not be one of them.

Game director at Naughty Dog, Justin Richmond told Eurogamer:

Whenever we sit down and think we should do some single-player DLC, someone pitches something and we realize…that’s a five hour level.

Richmond went on to say:

We’d rather build out another game than we do episodic content. We’re so small that we can’t afford to have a whole team working on DLC.

Although single-player will be getting no upgrades throughout its life, Uncharted 2 had several multiplayer DLC packs in the form of map and character packs. So we can at least expect that. But it’s a breath of fresh air to see that gamers will still get the entire core experience of Uncharted 3, which is a game built around single-player. No complaints here.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is slated for release on November 1, 2011.

What say you, gamers? Should more developers follow in Naughty Dog‘s footsteps?
