Woman claims she caught a man secretly tampering with a girl’s car outside CVS: ‘Not today sir’

A woman on her work break says she ended up keeping an eye on a parking lot after seeing a stranger do something to another person’s car that she couldn’t explain.

The creator, who goes by Katherine on TikTok, opens her video by saying she believes she’s witnessing “a real life, like, sex trafficking, something,” before detailing what she says she saw.

She says she was on her work break when a man got out of a nearby vehicle, walked over to another car, and “Opened up this girl’s gas tank, put a piece of paper in there,” Katherine says in the video. She claims he then returned to his pickup truck and drove across the lot to park in front of CVS, where he stayed without getting out.

Why Katherine decided to stay and watch

She stayed to figure out whose car had been approached and says she believes it belongs to another young woman, partly because they have “the same exact air freshener from TikTok shop.”

Katherine says she wanted to wait so she could warn the owner directly rather than leave. She questions why someone would choose the gas tank flap instead of something more obvious like a window, calling the situation “strange,” and says she planned to keep watching. She also captioned the video, “not today sir,” reflecting her belief that she was stopping something suspicious from happening.

The clip runs a little over a minute and does not show what happened afterward, so it remains unclear whether Katherine ever spoke to the driver or discovered what the paper actually was.

Videos showing strangers doing unexplained things around parked cars have become a familiar type of TikTok content, with creators often filming unusual encounters and asking viewers to help explain what they are seeing. The details vary from clip to clip, but many follow the same pattern seen in Katherine’s video: an unclear situation is treated as suspicious before viewers try to figure out what actually happened.

That uncertainty is also why the comments split. Some viewers moved past the trafficking claim and suggested more ordinary explanations, including small tracking devices that have become a common safety concern online. One commenter suggested exactly that, writing, “It could be a GPS tag.” 

However, others questioned why Katherine continued filming instead of contacting authorities, arguing that recording the situation was not the same as reporting it. 

One viewer wrote in all caps, “CALL THE COPS INSTEAD OF FREAKING VIDEOING,” a sentiment echoed by others who urged her to involve police rather than keep recording.

However, not everyone criticized her approach. Some viewers thanked her for staying, documenting what she saw, and trying to help. One commenter wrote, “You’re a girl’s girl and I love you. On behalf of all of us, thank you for waiting and documenting.”

Nothing in the video or its replies confirms what the paper in the gas tank actually was, and there is no indication that police were contacted. For now, the only account available is Katherine’s description of what she saw and her decision to wait rather than walk away.
