‘Biological hazard labs’: Are they telling the truth about why Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is in hospital?

Is it an "allergic reaction", or something far more serious?

Last night, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was rushed by ambulance to a DC-area hospital. As the public face of ICE, Noem is one of the highest-profile Trump appointees, and there was instantly huge interest in what happened to her.

DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin rapidly stepped in to try and stop any rumor-mongering, releasing a statement that claimed: “Secretary Noem had an allergic reaction today. She was transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution. She is alert and recovering.” CNN later confirmed the hospital she’s in is under Secret Service protection, with multiple agents covering each entrance.

No further details were given as to the seriousness of her condition, whether her life was in danger, or what kind of allergic reaction she suffered. Before yesterday, there had been no reports that Noem suffers from any serious allergies, though personal medical information is assumed to be private.

Her visit to germ warfare HQ

However, eyebrows were raised when her recent activities were reviewed. On June 16, the day before she was hospitalized, Noem visited Fort Detrick’s biological hazard laboratories alongside RFK Jr and Senator Rand Paul.

Officially known as the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, the facility studies the most dangerous viruses in the world and is one of the world’s leading biological warfare labs. The institute is also at the center of a conspiracy theory popular in China alleging COVID-19 was secretly developed there and leaked intentionally or unintentionally, triggering the global pandemic.

Now, let’s not get all tinfoil hat here, but it seems like a fairly big coincidence that one day after Noem visited a laboratory containing the most dangerous biological substances in the world, she was rushed to hospital in serious condition. There’s also a good reason to lie about this being a simple allergic reaction, as it would be hideously embarrassing for the Trump administration if one of its most prominent officials were inadvertently infected by an American biological weapon.

Alternatively, spending that much time alongside RFK Jr probably isn’t good for your health either. From publicly available information, it appears Noem remains in hospital. If this is a simple allergic reaction, we’d expect to see her released imminently. If it’s something else, look out for suspicious radio silence over the coming days.
