Charlie Kirk statue at Turning Point USA HQ vandalized to resemble re-enactment of his assassination, ‘It’s diabolical’

It’s now been a full year since the sudden and incredibly violent death of Charlie Kirk. On September 10, 2025, the controversial Turning Point USA founder was midway through arguing that gun violence statistics in America are exaggerated when a sniper’s bullet tore through his carotid artery, leaving the crowd stunned and him dead.

Kirk’s murder caused an eruption of sadness and anger from across conservative media, with the first anniversary of his death leading many to reflect on the legacy he left the world. Turning Point USA marked the occasion at their Phoenix headquarters by unveiling an 8-foot statue of Kirk with his hand triumphantly aloft, apparently intended to capture him tossing TPUSA merchandise to the crowd in the moments before his death.

However, an anonymous vandal apparently had other ideas, as Turning Point USA discovered in the early morning of Sept. 13 that the statue had been daubed with bright red paint overnight. More specifically, a large amount of red paint is dripping from the statue’s neck in what seems to be a reference to his horrific death.

TPUSA: “This is not funny”

In addition, TPUSA confirmed that a nearby poster memorial had also been vandalized, with red paint over Kirk’s face and neck, and the word “Jesus” apparently crossed out. TPUSA has vowed that they will find out who did this.

They took to X to say, “We will restore the statue and replace the signs, but we are also reviewing the footage of the incident and are working with law enforcement to identify who did this and hold them accountable.”

Erika Kirk, Kirk’s widow, added, “They think spray paint can obscure his legacy, but it will only spread it further. Every attempt to tear down what Charlie built makes us root deeper and work even harder.”

The organization underlined that this is no laughing matter, saying, “this is not funny, it’s diabolical. The incident happened in the middle of the night because evil never sleeps. Beyond spray painting on the neck and face, they made the intentional decision to cross out the name of Jesus on a nearby sign.”

AZCentral reported that “several” police vehicles were in attendance at the headquarters, though the officers would not comment on what the next steps were. The statue was reportedly covered with a tarp, placed under a tent, and surrounded by caution tape. As of writing, no suspect has been identified and no arrests have been made.
