‘I’m still supporting’: Husband stands by Trump after MAGA wife snatched by ICE, says he has ‘no regrets’

Dude, don't choose Trump over your wife!

It gets real cramped when there are three people in a marriage, but especially when it’s you, your wife, and Donald Trump. In what’s either a sterling example of sticking to your political principles or being an insanely cold-hearted monster, a California family has been torn apart after ICE goons dragged away the mom, and the husband thinks it’s sad but Daddy Trump knows best.

The Sahakyan family seems to have been MAGA to the bone, with dad Arthu Sahakyan describing the lot of them as “proud President Trump supporters” who support the administration’s campaign of kidnapping immigrants and sending them off to die in some godforsaken hellhole.

The thing is, Sahakyan’s wife Masihi is an Iranian immigrant who arrived in the country as a refugee aged 3. Unfortunately for her, fifteen years ago she had her green card revoked over what Arthu describes as “misdemeanor stuff”. Since then, they’ve been trying to get it back, but failed.

Even so, immigration officials seemed relaxed. As Sahakyan said, “She just went in [for an immigration check-in] in April. They said you’re fine. Have a good day. See you back in September or October.”

Well, it was fine right up until a vanful of masked goons screeched to a halt outside their house and snatched Masihi: “She came and kissed the kids and that was it. That was the last time we saw her.” Reporters heard Masihi weeping down the phone at her situation, her voice wavering as she said she was about to be processed to another unknown facility, and nobody could tell them where she was going.

Husband of the year!

So, is Arthu fighting for his wife’s return? Draining his savings to hire the best lawyer he can? Incessantly calling his elected representatives to try to get his wife – a woman who’s been in the United States since she was a toddler – back in his arms? Well, no, in fact, he sounds like he’s practically already given up on her. As he told reporters:

“I’m very for [the United States vetting] Iranian nationals because of the sleeper cells. I think it will resolve a lot of issues because we’ll know exactly who’s in here for what reasons, even though I miss [my wife] dearly. I think we could have a faster process [where they determine] she’s not a radical, or tied to the crazies, let her out.”

And has his screaming wife being dragged into an unmarked van and tossed into a torture center changed his opinion about Trump? “Trump is not trying to do anything bad. “We understand what he’s doing. He wants the best for the country. I’m just trying to make the best of it. I don’t want any families to go through this. If they are, I apologize for what they’re going through because it’s hard.”

He’s also refusing to take down his many MAGA flags, leaving his friends baffled: “I’m still supporting [Trump]. Even though my friends say take the flag down, you’re going through a lot. I’m like no. The flag stands.”

If Arthu sees his wife again – and frankly that’s a really big “if” right now – it sounds like it’s going to be an awkward reunion!
