Woman says she found a suspected dental crown in her Dutch Bros cookie dough drink, then asked the company ‘where did it come from?’

That’s one way to lose your appetite

A Dutch Bros customer says a routine coffee order turned into a weeks-long dispute with the company. What began as a strange find inside a cup has, by her account, led to suspended accounts, an internal investigation, and an unanswered question.

TikTok creator Koy first shared the discovery online. She said she found an odd object mixed in with the cookie dough pieces in her drink. “That’s like a f***g crown to a tooth or something,” she said, holding it up to the camera. By that point, she said, she had already taken several sips.

Koy says the find happened on Friday, July 24, and it took nearly a week to get anyone at Dutch Bros to respond, a wait one Florida man knows well after officials reportedly tested his Burger King complaint. When someone finally did, the response was not what she expected.

Koy says Dutch Bros suspended all three of her accounts

In her follow-up video, the creator said Dutch Bros suspended three separate accounts tied to her household. That included her own account, her husband’s, and an older account she could no longer log into. “Dutch Brothers suspended every one of my f***g accounts,” she said. She added that the points and free drinks tied to those accounts disappeared. She said she still liked the brand and would have kept ordering her favorite drink, the Campfire Blended, despite what happened.

The most recent update changed the tone of the story. She said a Dutch Bros representative named Adrian called to explain the results of an internal investigation. According to the creator, the company looked into both its own staff and the outside manufacturer that supplies its cookie dough. She says Adrian told her they “did not find that the crown came from any of their Dutch brothers workers” and that they “did not find evidence that it came from us.” She says the case was then closed.

She then asked Adrian whether the conclusion was that she had put the object in her own drink. She says he told her no, that it “wouldn’t make logical sense.” Still, the creator kept pressing the same question. “If it didn’t come from Dutch Bros. and it didn’t come from your manufacturer, so where did it come from?” That left her questioning how the suspected crown ended up in her drink in the first place.

Dutch Bros’ account of the account suspensions and the internal investigation could not be independently verified, as the details above come from Koy’s TikTok videos.

The Woman said she has since filed a claim with her local health department and sent in photos and other evidence. She also says she is speaking with a lawyer who has asked for a retainer deposit before officially taking the case. WGTC has also covered what to do after finding a metal object in a restaurant salad.

The comments focused on the suspected crown. One person wrote, “They handled this so poorly I’ll never go back.” Another pointed out, “That’s a crown that is someone’s 800 dollar tooth that they probably wish they wouldn’t have lost honestly.”

The creator said this will be her last detailed update for now. She can still make jokes about it, but won’t share further updates until the matter plays out.
