We probably shouldn’t be surprised that a Tennessee Congressman is making proud and open ‘racist’ statements, but Representative Andy Ogles just went so far that even hardcore MAGA is quietly telling him he might want to dial it back a bit.
Republicans have been in a tailspin over the last week after the unexpected victory of Zohran Mamdani in the first Democratic New York mayoral primary. Disgraced pervert Andrew Cuomo was the preferred establishment candidate but, perhaps unsurprisingly, voters decided that they’d prefer the guy who wants rent control and free buses over the sex pest.
But, for Republicans, Mamdani embodies everything they hate. At 33 he’s young (no!), he’s charismatic (gasp!), he appeals to young voters (horror!), he’s Muslim (*shrieks*) and is a proud socialist *faints dead away*.
It’s those last two that really have the right’s panties in a bunch, which is a little ironic considering they spent years insisting that Barack Obama was a Muslim communist, then that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were committed Marxists. Those were all lies, as proven by how frightened they are now that an actual socialist has appeared.

As such, Ogles has launched a campaign to get Mamdani, who was born in Uganda, moved to New York City at the age of seven, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2018, deported from the country. Not only that, but he did it in the most racist way possible, dismissing him as “little muhammed”:

Even MAGA thinks this is “not helpful”
To deport an American citizen who just won a democratic election for the “crime” of having political opinions you disagree with is, bluntly, straight-up fascism. And, for once, even the X blueticks weren’t cheerleading Ogles on, telling him “We will be better off without hateful, anti American scumbags like you”, describing him as a “brown nosing spineless MAGA coward” and “have you no shame” (clearly not).
Even “ULTRA MAGA” types are saying this is “not helpful”:

The terrifying thing is that there’s every chance Ogle’s plan could work. The current modus operandi for tactics like this is pore over every conceivable detail of an immigration form with the finest of toothcombs and look for anything that could even technically be in error. As the case of Mahmoud Khalil proves, the government doesn’t even have to reveal what it found (or didn’t find) in order to detain you indefinitely.
Perhaps Mamdani is now too high-profile a figure to just be disappeared, but these days who really knows the depths that Republican slime will sink to as they trash the nation’s reputation?
