California woman’s Taco Bell run becomes a nightmare after she finds a mysterious, knotted bag inside her crunchwrap

That is a disgusting turn of events.

A California woman’s fast-food trip turned into a viral mystery after she discovered a strange, knotted plastic bag covered in sauce hidden inside her Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supreme. TikTok user Kelsey (@kezleyyy) quickly took to social media to share her unwelcome surprise, and it is not part of some new menu.

Kelsey’s video, which has racked up over 444,000 views, starts with her directly calling out the fast-food chain. She sounds completely shocked, and honestly, I don’t blame her. Finding plastic in your food is never fun. “Taco Bell, you better count your f***ing days, OK?” Kelsey begins in her post.

She then shows the piece of plastic, which is clearly tied into a knot and drenched in sauce. “What the f*** is this? Why is there a plastic bag?” She was literally mid-bite when she found the object, which is truly awful. Imagine taking a big bite of cheesy, crunchy goodness only to find a mystery knot. According to Brobible, Kelsey immediately speculated the bag might contain “rugs,” which is a slang term for drugs

Someone put the package in the wrong order

She says she called the Taco Bell location where she bought the item to get some answers, but she didn’t receive any explanation about the plastic bag. Naturally, the comment section exploded with jokes about Kelsey’s drug theory. One user hilariously wrote, “What was your order…. word for word….” while another suggested, “People are dying Kelsey and you get a blessing.”

It’s actually pretty wild that this speculation isn’t entirely baseless. There’s a known phenomenon where certain fast-food locations use specific, coded orders to secretly sell illegal substances. For example, a location was once discovered to be selling drugs when police found that ordering “fries, extra crispy” would result in a drug offer. This kind of behavior isn’t just localized to the United States, either. A German pizzeria was actually raided by police after they learned that customers who ordered a “number 40” would receive a bag of cocaine with their meal.

However, if you were hoping Kelsey had accidentally stumbled upon a secret fast-food drug ring, you might be disappointed. The real explanation is far more mundane, though still completely gross, and worse than Pete Davidson’s Taco Bell commercial.

According to a former Taco Bell employee who commented on Kelsey’s video, the mysterious object is likely the top of a plastic carry-over bag. This is the bag that Taco Bell uses to deliver its beef to the workers. Before they can actually use the beef, employees have to cut off and remove the top of the plastic bag.

It seems highly probable that a worker removed the bag top and then accidentally let it fall into Kelsey’s Crunchwrap Supreme during preparation. This detail makes me feel even worse for Kelsey. This wasn’t just some random piece of trash; it was a piece of packaging that was definitely supposed to be thrown away.

Current and former Taco Bell employees weighed in on the issue, emphasizing that while this kind of mistake is possible, it absolutely shouldn’t have happened. They pointed out that this reflects a serious lapse in quality control and that workers should be much more mindful about keeping their workspace clean and disposing of plastic before it can accidentally contaminate a meal.
