Child bites into McDonald’s chicken nugget, finds something that doesn’t belong wedged right in the meat. Then his father pulls it out

Well, that’s one way to ruin a Happy Meal.

A TikTok creator shares a video showing him pulling a small piece of metal out of his son’s McDonald’s chicken nugget just after the boy bit into it. The creator, who posts under the handle austin_and_kids, filmed himself examining the nugget before working the object free.

According to the video, the creator picked up the nugget his son had been eating and noticed that the bite had exposed something inside it that did not look like chicken. “So my son was just now eating McDonald’s, took a bite out of his chicken nugget,” he says before moving the camera closer to the exposed interior. “Guys, what is that? What the f***k is that?”

The object is dark and appears to be some kind of staple or hook, wedged into the white meat rather than resting on top of it. The creator spends several seconds turning the nugget toward the camera before pulling the piece loose and holding it separately in his palm. The small U-shaped object has two narrow sections joined at one end, though the footage does not show where it came from or how long it might have been there. “This is what I pulled out of the chicken nugget from McDonald’s,” he says, holding it up. “Amazing.”

The discovery raises a few questions

Finding a metal object in restaurant food isn’t unheard of, and there are even steps diners can take if they find one in their meal. Whether this nugget follows a similar pattern has not been established, and McDonald’s has not addressed the video as of this writing.

The clip has drawn a range of reactions. One commenter focused on the fact that the boy did not eat the object, writing, “What About GLORY TO GOD he didn’t eat it thank God for His Protection.” Another questioned the decision to take children to the chain at all, asking, “can we stop taking our kids to McDonald’s?”

A third saw a potential lawsuit, writing, “That’s a lawsuit that’s what that isss.” The concern over what could have happened if the object had gone unnoticed also echoes an earlier case in which a shopper said she bit down on a thumbtack hidden inside a tub of cookie dough

For now, there is no independent confirmation of what the object actually is or how it ended up in the nugget. The creator’s own summary of the moment stayed just as flat as the discovery itself: “Amazing.”
