A woman in Florida reportedly went to a Miami salon to get lashes put on, but the visit ended with a dispute over extra charges and a call to the police, according to a video posted on TikTok. The client said she agreed to a service without knowing she was being charged an additional fee for it. When the appointment was over, she was apparently unable to pay the full amount, which led to a confrontation.
As reported by The Nerd Stash, the video was posted by a creator named Shae, who uses the handle @TheShaeEffect. As this is a TikTok video, it is the poster’s own account of events and should not be treated as verified fact. In the video, Shae claimed that her “client in Miami tries to run off without paying.” She said the client came in for lashes, added some services, and booked a same-day appointment, which she said added “extra fees.”
According to Shae’s account, the client knew about the extra fees and began her services anyway. However, Shae said that when the work was finished, the client could not pay all of the added charges. The client then appeared to have called the police to sort out the situation.

Speaking into the phone, the client explained her side, saying she “booked her today on Instagram for a service for my lashes.” She said she was told “all this extra stuff, all this cool stuff, I pay for everything,” but then added, “I didn’t know that I had glue on my eyes.” She said the price went from “$105, it went to $155,” and that she “tried to pay her $130 because I didn’t know about the extra fees.” The client also alleged that the lash technician “tried to trap me in the fucking house with all these men.”
Shae, whose voice is heard off-screen, interrupted to deny those claims. The technician said, “No, she did not. They were not in the room. They were not in the room. She’s in my room with me. She’s lying, saying, oh, they have guns on her. Never met with her before. I have a Ring camera. You can run the Ring cameras back.”
The video shows the client walking toward the police SUV while still on her phone, as a male officer stands by the vehicle and listens. The technician’s voice continues off-screen, accusing the client of “Stealing services” and adding, “and then she’s stealing on the phone over there.”
In her video, Shae told her audience, “She’s trying to run off on the services she didn’t pay for.” Shae said the client was “clearly broke” and could only afford to pay $130, even though she said she ended up charging over $150 for the services with all the added fees. Disputes over pay and fair value can also push people toward bigger decisions, as in the case of a worker who built a rival business after feeling underpaid.
Reactions to Shae’s video came quickly, with viewers split on the matter. While some sided with Shae, others sided with the client. One commenter questioned the jump in price, writing, “It went from 105 – 150 cause of glue 😳 huh.” Another suggested the client may have expected support from viewers, writing, “She thought we was abt to be on her side.”
A third commenter placed the blame on the client, writing, “Ma’am you’re wrong. How you gone up the price out of nowhere?” Stories about hidden or shocking price tags are not new, with some reports detailing clients who paid huge sums for disturbing services. The client has not addressed the issue publicly as of writing. There’s also no update on how the matter was eventually resolved.
